VIDEO: Do you remember Doha's old crazy roundabout?

Time for a little bit of Doha nostalgia.

"Crazy Roundabout" was a siamese 3-in-1 compound roundabout that struck fear into the hearts of many Doha drivers before it was banished from the city in the mid-2000s. Its legacy still persists as the intersection that replaced it is still commonly called "Crazy Signal".

Did any of you get the chance to drive on Crazy Roundabout yourself?

I can recall this roundabout from my childhood memories.

Could any one share details on the construction contractors and any interesting specifics behind its construction ?

Used properly, roundabouts are great for traffic flow .... So much history and character lost :O(

That roundabout had been responsible for hundreds of injuries and fatal accidents, before its removal.
