Cancellation of Credit Card

I had Commercial Bank Credit Card,having some outstanding amount to be repaid,since I am about to cancel my RP therefore I had deposited cash to repay them,but on getting intimation about my job no more may be they have blocked my account,anyway I proceeded with the bank asking to cancel the credit card and off-set against my current a/c balance which you have blocked in view to recover my liabilities,of which I received the sms that amount has been paid from current a/c balance available against my credit card amount but on visiting branch they checked and fill one form saying zero balance against credit card and took it from me and tore apart,and asked me to wait till further 5 working days to cancelled officially and after that only my current a/c would be settle and closed.if a person has to travel within 2-3 days and paying all liablibities against his credit card,what will he do,shall he be allowed to leave the country or face problem due to this 5 working days process...please help in this issue I too wanna to leave as soon as possible.How long it takes to close the current a/c with the bank...also please clarify
