Changing profession in your Qatar ID
Did you ever want to change the profession on your ID card, but didn't know how? Here's some information that will help you with the process. Keep in mind that not all profession change requests will be granted.
The Department of Labour regulates the procedures to change the profession on your Qatar ID based on the form you fill out.
In these procedures, you will have to submit a letter to the management of the administrative affairs of the company in which he works requesting the change of title mentioned in the ID card with the actual title, based on the functional tasks that you perform in the company.
Based on this letter, the management should prepare a new work contract for the employee with the new profession and two copies of the certificate will be issued for the person who is concerned with the correct name.
The company will fill up the form designed to change the profession and get the required signatures on the contract and the attached letters as well as the form by the director of the company who is authorised to sign. The documents will be enclosed with the photocopies of the academic degrees obtained by you along with a photo.
You will also need a bank statement for at least 3 months for the Dept. of Labor to verify.
The contract will be certified by the Department of Labour after the form as well as the attached documents are submitted by you or through the company's representative.
The matter will be reviewed with the Department of Labour in order to take appropriate action after verifying the authencity of the request and then the procedure will be completed in the Department of Expatriates' Affairs until the amendment of the professional name is done in the identity card and work visa with thepassport after paying the prescribed fees (QR 300).
Depending on several conditions, your request may or may not get approved. The process is tedious and will require a lot of follow-up from your end.

I am Looking to change my profession from technician to supervisor, i have certificate with attestation of Ministry affairs. & Translated in Arabic. I will submit to my company. What is the procedure? If I submit, when i can get New ID with new profession? Is it from MOI? I should go to collect? Or company will give? My currently ID will expire 2020. So the new id can i get when company renew my old ID or , before renew my Old id? Can any one assist me? I don’t have knowledge regarding this matter. Please help me. Some one is telling Only old ID renewal time can get new ID with New profession, Please if any body know , pls let me know
Yes the process is complicated. We should suffer for the mistakes done by our company mandoop. I would like to know our mandoop will submit the pre agreement of candidates or not to ministry. If yes than the profession they offered on agreement is different and the profession on visa issued is different. How this come our visa should be on same profession as mentioned on pre- agreement.
Complicated to understand also. Need awareness programs from govt to make expats aware of procedures.

I have Diploma in Civil Engineering , i coming in qatar as a Steel Fixer Foreman But before company give me visa as a Mason, (means my residency permit profession is Mason). without my company agreement is Foreman . now my problems around 1 years i am work in company office as a Draftsman & company already Changed my salary & position to draftsman. i have new agreement also from company now i want to change my residency permit , Qatar ID to Draftsman ? i request to company change my qatar id after company asked me bellow paper,
1) School Certificate
2) Old Contact paper
3) New Contact paper
4) 60 QR
they don't tell me detail so kindly anybody give me advice what kind of paper i will send to company ??

Need to ask you a question regarding my profession change.
I have given a visa of Connection Technician a year ago and they agreed to change it to a Mandoop visa now.
I have my Intermediate Certificate from India. so, do i really need to attest and translate those certificates or it is not necessary for the post of Mandoop??
