NSO SECPA of MC not released yet
Hi! I need your advise please. We got married last Nov 08 in Phils but until now, we couldn't get a copy of the NSO-issued security paper which I believe would be needed in all legal transactions relating to it. Until just recently, we were direct-hired by a company in Doha. Me and my husband were posted as single(bachelor) status in the same company for us to be there same time. We shall have same benefits as individual but will have a shared accomodation in the housing facilities. Because as for now, what we have yet is the NSO authenticated of the municipality's civil registrar-issued copy.We also just had our actual marriage certificate pulled-out from the NSO branch so that it could be electronically endorsed in their database. But we've heard that it will take months before we finally get the SECPA. I am asking this because I'm afraid that we might be questioned in living together if without these paper. What else do we need to take note of and prepare in here before we leave off to Qatar? Your advise will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
who replied to this post!
we're already done with the other documents... but we'll try to catch up with the marriage certificate.
thank u for all the help!yeah, see u soon in Qatar...tc all!
one world.one love.
will take less than 2 weeks. And while you're at DFA it is better to have your other documents(birth cert.,school records) be authenticated too as you might need it in the future.Well, good luck to you and see you in Qatar soon.
i'm happy to note that when i checked with NSO Dumaguete today where we forwarded our documents for early endorsement two months ago, the woman in the line confirmed the availability of our record in their database and that we can get a copy of it from any of their branches in the country. At last, after almost six months of waiting...we can finally say it's done. But still, for the main purpose of it at least for now, having it red-ribboned, we still will start a new process and will face (again) possible delays from the service usually given in government sectors. Wish me luck!
but don't worry as long as you both live in the company accomodation nobody will ask for the MC.Anyway ,your company knows that you are husband and wife.
Tatess, problem is it's not yet in the database of NCSO...but it's on the process already. It moved when we retrieved it for electronic endorsement. We're just waiting for an unknown duration of the proces. *sigh.
since this is legal document(I mean not a fake one ,so even if they check it at NCSO ,Phil.there will be no problem at all)but not accepted for authentication here.So you still need the MC with DFA authentication.
Feel free to pm me anytime you have queries.God Bless!
sorry for the late response. anyway for tatess, sorry, i forgot to note that we applied in the job as married couple and i believe they will prepare the visa with corresponding status. we expect a suitable accommodation for married employees. they hired us in the single (bachelor) post but not i guess relative to the civil status. so i believe, there's no need to change from single to married in any documents since "married" has already been established from the start. we just lack the secpa which the delay is beyond our hands already. what we have for now is the nso-authenticated and stamped civil registrar-certified true copy of our marriage certificate. so my question i guess should have been "is it acceptable in Qatar as proof" while we don't have yet the secpa and the red ribbon.sorry for the phrasing of my queries.
regarding the option to get married again in Doha- no need and wouldn't be necessary, why? because the Doha Phil'Embassy will do the same thing for processing of MC,registration will be done at NCSO,meaning they will send your papers back to Phils ,same process and will take months too.And if ever you have the MC ready, you also need to have it authenticated(red ribbon) at the DFA ,Manila.
Just let one of your relatives take care of your MC with authorization letter from you and dont forget to have it auhtenticated at DFA,Manila before sending it to you here in Doha or else it will be useless.
just bring with you a copy of MC issued by the civil registrar while waiting for the NCSO authenticated one.
Just in case somebody questioned you but I doubt it.
As soon as your authenticated MC is ready then both of you can change your status from single to married to be able to live together legally.
VBProgrammer, unfortunately when we checked with NSO Main thru email since our application for a SECPA with local branch here in Mindanao was denied because there was no record yet; they said same that they don't have yet records of November 2008 from our municipality and that these might be in Cebu branch still. Which we found out later this April that Cebu branch still had them. So what we did, we travelled back and forth (we're now living in Mindanao) to make a follow-up until we were able to pull it out from the said branch, paid 80pesos for LBC and for some photocopies. We just wondered what took them that long (imagine from November) that until April, they still have our file and have not yet endorsed it to their database. Well, we just did our part quietly even if it seems that we are still singles, technically speaking.
Anyway, if we choose the option you offered, won't the immigration here or in Doha look for our SECPA certificate? How do we apply for marriage in Doha? Timeframe and financial matters will also be few concerns before resorting to such option.
