IF U R IN DOHA, SEND YOUR NBI CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE TO PHILIPPINES ALONG WITH YOUR AUTHORIZATION LETTER TO A CERTAIN PERSON ASSIGNED TO PROCESS THE PAPER, ADDRESS TO DFA, COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT.

THE AUTHORIZED PERSON WILL SO APPLY FOR AUTHENTICATION IN DFA, HAD TO WAIT FOR CERTAIN PERIOD OF DAYS TO COLLECT THE RED RIBBON'D DOCS, LET THEM SEND IT BACK TO QATAR.

PERO KUNG NASA PINAS KA, SYEMPRE, U KNOW WHAT TO DO NA!!!

rockduke: it's rather much easy for the ppl in mindanao to go through that, #1 is the NBI clearance there can be obtained in less than 30 minutes (new applicants/renewals), #2 they just go to any DHL and pay more or less P800 for the CAV in the DFA/embassy, #3 wait for a maximum of 2 weeks for the stamped NBI clearance ;-)

is expired. Validity is only for a year, isn't it? I am afraid she has to go home and get one wahhhhhhhh

I think, NBI clearance is personal because you have to do finger stamping there and they have to get your photo..

he/she need to go home and get an NBI or can he/she ask his/her relative to get one for him/her?

when all your record are already in the Qatar authority? Was it a requirement to give another NBI if you are not leaving this country and you have submitted an NBI before?

after DFA, send to Qatar Embassy in Pinas for them to have it stamped. You have to use the services of Air21/Fedex because Qatar Embassy does not want personal appearances. You will get the stamped NBI after 7 days directly to your mailing address.

hay! that's life. DFA should be putting up some satellite offices in the provinces, and not just for passport services...I just can't imagine our kabayans spending lots of time and money for these authentication.

I told you kabayan. NBI clearance should be authenticated first at DFA in Manila before the stamping at Qatar Emabassy also in Manila. The offices here want the NBI with the red ribbon and Qatar embasssy stamp. Good luck friends!I just had mine last January so I think that is the status quo...

This is not a new process. It's been going on since then. Check their website for more info.

Anyway, send the NBI clearance to your relatives who can help you out there in the Philippines. Let them go to DFA for the authentication. Enclose your letter of authorization also. The stamping can be done in the Qatar Embassy there. Just coordinate with Air21/Fedex to do that for you. The embassy does not allow personal appearance.

Then, after the process, ask your relatives to send the document back to you. Got it?

It's ribbon, not rebbon. No wonder you can't get it.

rockdude, Sorry fo this, but I just had it last January 2009. Qatar Embassy will only put the stamp AFTER the authentication from DFA with the red ribbon on it.

FYI, Red ribbon is almost for every legal document i.e marriage, birth, death certificates, school records, etc, etc....

red ribbon is only for marriage certificate and not for NBI..for NBI they will stamp your copy for 100 Box to prove that your NBI has been checked by our embassy..

Bring your NBI clearance to DFA for its authentication. Pay Php100.00 and wait after five working days for the relase. They will put red ribbon.

If you plan to come here in Qatar, they will require you to mail that to Qatar Embassy thru Air21/Fedex.

I hope I have imparted some info. Good luck!
