Some Issues in Working In Qatar

I am not pretty sure if i put these topic right here or in the Ask a Question Tab but since there is no related topic for these kind of questions there i am putting this topic right here :)))~

I had a situation were my friend ask some advice about the legal approach that he will going to make to file a complain about his company. because his salary was delayed for over many months passed also his visa was expired for almost 6 months & his boss was avoiding him to talk about his problems one more thing is he is living like a cage rat in their office because his boss dont give them proper accomodation to live in.
The real question is Does the Department of Labor here in Qatar ( Ministry of Labor ) offer some protection for a regular salary payman after he files a complain? My friend told me that he dont trust his Manager & Management of his Company that when the actual hearing starts his boss will go & making some stuffs & accused him of anything that will damage his reputation ( telling lies & stuffs )..
For six years working in this country this is not the first time i hear a situations like this then so when he asked for me an advice i couldnt say no & tell him i am going to make a reasearch about it & ask some people who has already encountered these problems..

Any advice & suggestions for these related problems will be deeply appreciated.. Thanks guys in advanced!!

Hey BB, you're cool man. I think you are the one of the best boss in town. Lucky for your subordinates. I could only wish good things for you.

@highvision I hope your arrogance will end with you.

Filing a complaint both in the Labor Department as well as in the Human Rights Committe will be good in such cases. I hope your friend will get justice.

With all the human rights campaigning Qatar is doing, I think that your friend should have some good protection in making his claim. I wish him well. That is the kind of behavior by employers that MANY in Qatar aim to end.

highvision?? totally uncalled for.

do u agree on holding someone's salary? do u believe asking for ur basic right is complaining?

if an emplyer is dissatisfied with his employee, he can always terminate him. not wrongly withhold his salary.

I met a lot of guys like him... also i met a lot of managers who put something on the contract papers (in english & arabic version) that when the time it was ends..right on the bat they ll just ran off & forfeit it like nothing was agreed on these papers lol... I Honestly Believed that Qatar was a very good place to live & work for if these kind of Jerks in the Top management didnt exist... ( i mean my friends Boss & His Company ) same goes for ya highvision.. u should go your mouth ranning off like that :P

tell him to be brave and make the complain in the labour court, later if he didn't get any positive results then nobody will blame him that he didn't do what he has to do.

but generally labour court is very cooperative and they are with the labour side and not as what you imagine
