FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Community Services Supervisor
JOB LOCATION/DEPARTMENT: Qatar - OM&L
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Services Supervisor assists the Community Services Manager with the training, supervision, and leadership of all ITT-QBOSS employees that are assigned to the Fitness Centers in Bldg’s 106 & 109, Video Hut, X-Box Game Room, Cyber Café and Phone Center in Bldg. 109. Oversees the Fitness Centers 106 & 109, Video Hut & X-Box Game Room, Cyber Café and Phone Center 109. Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the highest possible standard of service.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Supervises day-to-day operation of MWR facilities and manages department attendants.
- Directs develoopment and operation of MWR activities.
- Assists with implementing sports fitness and leisure events.
- Provide oversight of government furnished property.
- Assist Community Services Manager with implementation of quality, safety, environmental and other administrative affairs.
- Assist with Armed Forces Entertainment Programs.
- Staff Training.
- Plans, and assigns work of attendants in MWR facilities.
- Supervises the monitoring and organizing of the use of MWR facility computers, phones, and other equipment.
- Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
- Ensures facility and staff present a well-organized, safe and professional environment for patrons
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Must be capable of operating a personal computer equipped with Microsoft software. Be able to produce “Word” documents, “Excel” spreadsheets and “Power Point”.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
In this position there is exposure to physical and working conditions where serious accidents or injuries may occur, exposure to disagreeable noise elements and prolonged high ambient temperatures. Depending on event schedules, this position will require early mornings/late evenings and outdoor work.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull 35-45 lbs.
SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and able to communicate effectively.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Foreign National
Education/Experience:
BA or BS degree preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Community Services Management including five years of supervisory experience.
Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Program Specific Requirements:
- Extensive Community Services Management Experience. (5 Years)
- Working knowledge of American style sporting events.
- Must be able to supervise and manage the activities of multi-national and culturally diverse work force.
- Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they relate to Community Services Management.
- Accustomed to dealing at executive level.
- Be familiar with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Prior military experience a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in MWR Operations.
- Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
- Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
