Residence Permit can be issued for 1, 2, or 3 years. If any one stay outside Qatar for more than 6 months automatically expires the R P. Exemptions are there for wife and children in certain cases

Its difficult to answer your question but one has to do their RP within 3 months if I am not wrong.

If they leave Qatar more than 6 months, RP will no longer be valid.
