We plan to go for Umrah, rates for airways are high thatsy we planned to go by road,by driving my car till hofuf nfrom there by air to Jeddah.i m having 2small kids also,so any suggestions regarding this would be helpfull for me,thanks

Hi, Going for Umrah By Road is a Good Idea who like driving. The Distance to Mecca is about 1500 Km from Abu Samra. Macca to Madina is another 500 km. Back to Qatar from Madina is another 1500 km. Umrah Visa starts in late february 2009. All the best

If this is your first time, you'd better go with a travel agent (Hamla). They arrange for everything and most of them have both Air and road options. They take care of the visa, arrangements for kids or other things. Omra is felxible if you travel by air. You can choose the number of days you want and if you want to go to only Mekkah or to Madinah as well. They also provide booklets and religious consultations about how to make Omra.

By road is better option buz from Jeddah u need to travel abt 6 to 7 hrs by road too
