I have skype and Vonnage. I never use skype anymore as it was always dropping words and I could only hear about half the conversation. Vonnage works 10 times better in my opinion. sometimes you don't get a great connection, when that happens then I just hang up and call again and it is fine. It's always crystal clear as if the person is next door.
It sometimes gives a little problem...Not so much... But u can use the call quality feedback option in skype and try if that helps to improve the quality later..
I also use Skype, but hey why the connection is so bad? even when i call Europe, it gets frozen, or interrupting, or whatever..Is there is a way that I can improve it?..
Just use "SMARTVOIP" its free to call US. Go to the site www.smartvoip.com and download. Then buy credit to your account. Once you have credit you can make free calls to US & many other places... Check the rates list on their site to find out the rates to different countries...
If you have a DSL connection I would look into Skype. I pay $5 USD a month, get a 'local' (you pick where) US based number and have unlimited calls to landline and mobile numbers in the US. The only downside is you have to connect to the internet, so if you are not connected people who call you just get your voicemail.
Also, if the person you are calling has Skype you can call their computer for free (you don't need the $5/month plan).
I found a really nice USB headset at Lulu's for about QR 100. The sound quality is better than my mobile.
