Good area to live for a western with a 6-7k

Dear All,

Everything is in the title. It is an urgent request !

Is it possible to find a good 1BR, if possible not too far from Qatar airways office. For 6 to 7k max per months all included??

I wish to be in a "western friendly area", not in an indian or pakistanese area where all restaurant and supermarket are made for those nationality (I got nothing against those nationalities !!!)

Which area would you advise me?

Where could I find ad for it apart from Qatar living?

Thanks to everyone !

Thanks to everyone.

I will check Old airport, And everything between Al saad and the QA tower down the C and D road. With notably Al hilal, New salata...

Just one question, is there anyone living in The park residence in Abu Hamoour? Is it crowded on the road bethween there and the airport area?

I will try to let you know about the result.

buddy having read this post and the other one, im even more certain of Matar Qadeem/D-ring road/Hilal being your best options. You have The Mall (Spinneys and food joints inside) and most of the Western food joints around there and its close to work, in addition to being within your budget. Have a look I say and best of luck:-)..And don't worry yourself with the offended people; they are just touchy; you made it clear you're not anti-anyone and don't need to explain yourself anymore.

Greenpert, the area you are talking about is i think mostly populated with Asians. Westernindoha does not wants that.

Westernindoha: Barwa village is a good place but the thing is its expensive (Not sure though). you can even check in Al Hilal Area behind gulf times. But no guarantee if that area would be "western friendly area" as you have mentioned but its peaceful.

As Msndy said, you will find any and every nationality in all parts of Qatar..YOU might want to try Doha Jadeed though....;)

Doha is not as de facto segregated as Dubai.

I have seen plenty of flat in Al saad in the 7k area.

I won't make it, I would rather take a 2BR at 10 and sublet a room.

You seems to be knowledgable, do you know about abu hamour area?

I am not allergic to anyone, but do not want to live in area where they are representing 80% of the population. I have lived in Dubai for 5 years I know those nationalities.

Your situation is tricky, i think to avoid unlikely localities you need to be in pearl, westbay, alwaab but your 6-7K budget quite less,

so better you make it 10-12, or possibly share a flat in westbay for that money.

however if you're Allergic to Indians (Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Nepalese....) i suggest you drop idea of coming to Qatar, they're everywhere :):)

Being less than 20 minutes from work would be great. Is Saad giving quick access to QA?

Ok, I think some people here got me wrong despite I clearly said I got nothing against Indians or Pakistanese.

I am a muslim western, living in dubai for 5 years. In dubai, you have the choice to live in "indian" area (bur dubai for example), in Filipino area (satwa), in Western Area (Marina...) or in mixed area but with a good standard of life (mirdif, barsha...)...

I choose to live in a mixed area!

What I do not want, is ending up in an area with 80% of filipino or indian with all the shop designed to those population ...

I also do not want end up in an area which is essentially home for low income population as it is often reflected in the mosque, street and buildings itself.

Brother, Qatar is a safe country and don't worry abt the locality.. make sure you are happy with flat or villa you take...

Also take this as an opportunity to make friends and understand culture from across world :)

would like to share what i observed. being top on GDP doesn't stop a Qatari to go and have food/tea from a small asian restaurant..or stay only in one particular locality..

Enjoy life :)

Bang near the qatar airways office or you could look up part villas around the mall or E ring road.

Not sure what a 'western' supermarket is but you have spineys in The Mall. Stay away from FFC or Lulu as you'll find us Indians there ;-/

With the traffic building up - look to reside as close to your office.

Best of luck dude to find your apartment.

I personally feel it would have been more decent if you would have avoided mentioning the names of nationalities.

And besides supermarkets are for everyone who wishes to buy from there, and not specially established for your mentioned nationalities.

sir,

my advice would be to search a flat\villa in madeena khalifa south. Peaceful place, no any traffic congestion, well behaved and well mannered peoples you can see there mostly the local Qataris..... and its near to Doha, were you can easily reach any part of qatar, as because there is access to many of the free ways.will inform you, if i find one.

Hi Landloverreview !

From what I have seen west bay and pearl are too expensive for me !

I will check out Al Saad and other mentionned.

Is the new Barwa village a good place to live?

By the way, considering I am alone i am looking for a flat, a villa would be too much.

Actually Kutch you are right ! i am Rascist against Stupidity ! Hence I must really hate you !!!!

I clearly mentioned I got nothing against indian and pakistanese but I just don't want to live in an area which is populated only with those nationality as I do not feel I belong there notably due to the food in restaurant and product found in supermarket and also the cooking odor on public area of the buildings. Is it racist?

if you have some inferiority problem and call any western a racist it is not my problem ! I have absolutely no problem with any nationality !
