I'm moving to Doha, Qatar in a few weeks' time and I was wondering about a few things...

Especially, how strict are the laws against relationships outside marriage for expats? My girlfriend and I are going together... what type of public display of affection for example is allowed? I heard holding hands is fine, but kissing is not?

Also, I presume premarital sex is a NO NO.

How often do you meet other people NOT from Qatar? What is the night life like?

Blackberry service is available? How good is the service there?

Public transport in Doha, how is it?

If you guys have any tips / advice that would be awesome, thanks!

You cannot live together and PDAs are discouraged. There is next to no public transportation. Most of the people you meet will not be Qatari, Qataris are less than 20% of the population. There is (expensive) nightlife.
