Hi,
I have been working as a software engineer having specialization in .NET. I am an Indian. I have been offered a job in Qatar for Consultant position with a salary of QR 10,500 of which 6500 will be for base salary and 2300 QR for accomodation. I want to know will this amount be sufficent. I am coming as individual and not with family. Will this amount be sufficient for me?
I want to know about living expenses in Qatar as of now.

Please reply at the earliest.

Thanks in Advance

Dear all,

Is 1 euro equal to 5 QR?

Regards.

kishhr...

Since you are alone that salary would be good.

You can get "Bed space" for QR 1200, ie share a room with other/s. Of course the toilet too will be shared.

If you are lucky you could also land up single room + bathroom for QR 2500 which would be in a shared house with a dividing wooden wall in between.

Malayali hotels have (Thali) Lunch/Dinner for QR 5 to 10. Breakfast too can be had at same hotels at for Qr 5 to 10.

The problem is would you get accomodation near such a hotel?

You will need a car for transportation if your company does not give you one. Sedan cars - Emi Qr 1500 to Qr 2000 depending upon models. Second hand car can be bought QR 30,000 and below.

If you drink you will need liquor permit. Never drink & drive though.

I just asked to know better, even though I had a rough estimate as you people are living in Qatar and could provide better estimate.

If you can provide some estimate I would be really greatfull, even if you don't provide I don't mind, but please don't post such comments.

How much I can expect as a software engineer having 2 years experience in IT industry in Qatar?

How much accomodation can cost if I share room with some one or if I rent a seperate one bedroom apartment?

What could be total expenses for an individual like food etc...

But I found many of the reply posted on 2006 or 2007. Since many things could have been changed, I am asking it again.
