Hi all,

I think the following questions might have been asked here and there but I would like to put them in a list. And please Try to organize answers and indicate when your answer is subjective otherwise, please make answers objective.

The idea is, t ocome up with a single posting that would either answer most of the questions or point readers towards right place to find answer. I spent lots of time reading and I think it would be nice to same others time and efforts.

If you have better suggestion or modification please go ahead.

Thanks for understanding and cooperatrion

1. Compensation:
this one --after eading through lots of postings and respnses, seems to be way too vague and depends on nationalty, experience, industry .. but I am sure somebody could but it into a table maybe or just recap into few statements that will give a basic idea.

2. Housing:
Pleae provide reasonable estimates in form of:
a. Type: house vs appartment, furnished/not ..
b. Area: i have no idea but if added, it will be more informative
c. Type of contract: month to month vs yearly ...
d. Other: please specify when other things are included or not. Like utilities, Internet, Cable ...

3. Health:
a. What to expect to pay for various services in case there is no health insurance
b. If coverage not provided by employer, is ther ean option to buy it? how much?
c. Any particular conditions or diseases to mention: allergies, humidity...
d. Availability of gym and other sports activities

4. Transportation:
From what I read it seems like there is no public transit system. If possible provide information on the following:
a. How expensive/easy to buy/finance/rent cars
b. Car Insurance cost
c. Parking or other expenses associated with owning/operating a car.

5. Entertainement:

6. Socializing:

8. Home tax: especially interested to hear from US citizens who file taxes in the US declaring their foreign income. What are the exemptions/deductions and rate of federal tax.

Regards,

I guess what they are trying to say is that many of the questions you ask have asked have fluid answers and depend on the individual/organisation etc.

If you ask specific questions you will no doubt get answers on some of them.

Taking the question on compensation...it would be impossible as there are a multitude of disciplines, organsiations pay scales etc.

It took years to come up with comparisons within the Qatar government organisations and in fact the survey may no longer be undertaken...........and that's just on basic pay and benefits!

I doubt if they have such a table in the US.

We can work as consultants for you but the fee is very high.

"And please Try to organize answers and indicate when your answer is subjective otherwise, please make answers objective".

Your question are too many and you will have to sift through an abundance of answers. There are actual threads here that go deeply in to the subjects.

The questions you raised are to specific and it would take a long time to give detailed answers. Compenstation - everyone of us is on a different level and in any case you have to negotiate yourself.

Housing - you can pick out from the varios newspapers or email various estate agents and they will inform you of the utilities, etc. contract are yearly mostly. What you can afford and your taste is up to you.

Public transport - exists but there are no trains no undergounds, there are taxis.

Bying a car - talk to the bank what the rates are again depends on what you want.

Operating costs for you car - all different - you will find out when you are driving it.

Car Insurance - ask the agent.

Entertainment - You are the one to decide.

Socialsing - you have to organise yourself or join a club.

Income Tax - best to check with your own country what rules and regulations are.

Health Services - either insure yourself at home or take what is on offer here and pay.

Please understand this is not a project and there is a great deal of information on the site.

this is just a forum asking for opinions from those willing to share info, but expecting sructured and very organized answer is .. really out of reality or should i say very impractical (spelling korek?)

This guy is obviously well qualified for a senior management position with QP. Totally inexperienced and way out of touch with reality, he could go far with them...
