hi people,

I have been reading alot of these forumns in terms of salary expectations and the more I read the more I am getting confused in terms of a good salary. I guess maybe because different people have different expectations.

I have just got a job offer from a small IT company in Doha for 31000 QRs per month ALL inclusive at mid management level.

I am married with no kids and looking for a 2 bedroom apartment FF.

I will also be looking to purchase/rent a vehcile too.

my only expectation is that I am able to save at least 17500QR's a month.

any thoughts?

Please reconfirm with this "small IT company" who can pay you QR31000 every month.  Hope they will not close the company after a year.

QAR 31,000 is a good salary considering it's a small IT company. Depending on your choice of house, a 2 bedroom FF apartment will cost you in the range of QAR 5,000 - 7,000. A decent SUV can set you aback by about QAR 3,000 - 4,000 (depending on the car) and for groceries and eating out at least once a week, say another QAR 5,000.If you spend wisely, you can easily save a min of QAR 15,000/ month

in terms of money that will be depend upon your lifestyle here in Doha. You may rent an apartment range from 5000 to 8000 per month, since you dont have kids. For car you have so  many options, rent a car, car loan, buy new one or buy a second hand. For foods maybe two of you will spend 1500 a month (self cooking). Your lucky dude...31 thousand inclusive is fair enough.

If the company is giving u accomodation too for free and within few months u buy ur vehicle of ur own and after 6 months if u and ur wife spend wisely than u can save around 25000 per month for sure...Just cling ur hands on shopping tightly and VOILA ur savings will start for sure...

I think you should buy a car instead, wasting so much money each month on renting one doesnt seem logical. I bet you can pay them in installments. About the job and pay, I think your getting paid okay compared to few other foreigners I know of. They get paid upto 70,000 per month for a mangerial post. And naphy dont be surprised this is called Institutional Racism (:

Small company and your salary is 31,000Qr for being a I.T job wow your really lucky dude. my cousin is a IT manager and his salary is only 5,000QR in a hotel. well you can save 17,500QR in a month because car is 3,000 per month + apartment with 2 bedrooms 10,000-15,000QR that's it.. what's the problem you have a lots of money.
