Life Style - Qatar vs. Bahrain

Hi, I have been offered to move to Bahrain by my office at the same salary package where I will not be getting any extra benefit. I`ve heard that cost of living is cheaper in Bahrain and saving option is greater as compared with Qatar. Besides other factors, I want to explore more on this and see if the option is viable and practical? What is the ooportunity cost and relevant factors that I may loose if I leave Qatar and opt for Bahrain? How big is the saving option and what are the areas where I can have this option?

Practical views are welcome. Thanks

Hi..

I was in bahrain for 6 years and base on my experience i can give you some suggestion:

Bahrain is a tiny island but a nice country. personaly i love bahrain ambience.at least compare to qatar the life style is quite open and specially night life you can find easly.

Accomodation is cheaper then qatar. but again it depend on your life style. At least you can save some bucks from your pocket by managing your accomodation.

emphasized here that everything depend on your life style.

If you like entertaiment then it is a red light for your pocket by choosing bahrain as your base.

think also about the country political situation which still on grey zone. wait till the situation back to normal.

good luck

For the rent I pay here for a 3 BHK apartment, I would probably get a compund villa with all the works...

We have moved from Bahrain to Qatar recently . The cost of living is at least 25% - 40% cheaper in Bahrain . Troubles remain and they are effecting business but life for expats remains mostly unchanged . I certainly never felt unsafe in the island and there is plenty of social activities and a small community feel to the country .

Things in Bahrain aren't stable as yet.I think you better wait some more before you can actually move there parmanently.
