Hi, all!
I'm pregnant and moving to Qatar next month from San Francisco.
I just want to know what baby stores are there. (e.g;babies r us, toys r us..ect.) Will I be able to find everything I need for the baby? Or should I buy and bring baby stuff here? If I should, I might purchse on-line.(at amazon.com.)
Can anybody give me advice what I should bring from the U.S? something not available there.
Thanks for your help. :)

Good quality baby car seats can be found here but they are very expensive - same for strollers. I would suggest you buy them and bring them with you as the selection is limited as well (mostly British/European brands that meet Western safety standards). Baby gates can be tough to find as well.

You can buy these things online and have them delivered via an Aramex account (some companies will not ship outside the US - Aramex gives you a US address for delivery, then couriers the stuff here for you)

For more recommendations from expat mothers I would suggest you visit www.expatwoman.com - they have country specific and regional forums for this region where you can get info from other mums.

there is no babies r us.. but there is mother care and chiccos and baby world and many other stores..

I have a one year old and I moved here 3 months ago, I found everything I need, even Avent bottles.. however, everything is more expensive! eg.. I left my baby monitor there, because of the 110 volts in the U.S /220 volts here difference.. I went to buy one from here.. same one with $40 difference :S ...so be prepared for higher prices, but you get a wide variety of American and European brands..

ps. I shipped our crib, high chair, bouncer, pack and play, practically, everthing with me.. along with all my furniture..
