In case you haven't already, you may want to get some posters up in the Qatar Veterinary Centre (opposite Villaggio) and Doha Vets/The Veterinary Surgery (opposite Rumeillah Hospital). Make sure you also put a note on the QAWS and Dogs in Doha Facebook pages, this is a great way of spreading the message about your lost dog.
Hey.
We went to that place last night, But my dog wasnt there.
Any idea of any other place where they take dogs found on the road.
I also heard abt the Animal Resorces Bld on Matar Street, besides the UPS Office.
Any other Ideas???
I will do just that...
I cant thank u enough for the information u hv given me.
The directions are very easy for a person like me to understand...
Will get on my way now... Just praying my boy is there...
Thanks!!!
Make sure you take a LOST poster with you (preferably in arabic) that you can leave there just in case your dog hasn't been picked up yet. That way if he is collected they can call you straight away.
The guys there speak very little english but there's always someone on site. If there are any dogs that have been collected, they are normally tied up just outside the kennel block on the right as you go in.
I don't know any contact numbers but I can give you rough directions as to where they are.
Coming from Villaggio, go past Hyatt Plaza and turn right at the signals.
At the small roundabout go straight.
At the next roundabout (with the Equestrian Club on it) take the 3rd exit.
The canine unit is about 3/4s of the way down that road on the right hand side.
There are no signs or anything but you are looking for a big walled area with a dirt parking area outside with some covered parking spaces along the wall. By the big gates there's a small juice shack which you can just about see from the road.
Sorry the directions are rubbish but there aren't any landmarks as far as I can remember.
Thanks,
But do u hv more details of this place.. The location or a contact number.
If i go there now, will they allow me to at least check If my dog is with them...
Any dogs picked up by the police are taken to the Police Canine Unit in Al Rayyan.
Without meaning to scare you, they are not a rescue shelter and so do not hold dogs that are found. If they are a pure-breed then they may hold onto them for a while to see if someone comes and claims them so please go down there as soon as possible to see if they may have seen your dog.
