The Pearl night club in the Marriott has a ridiculous dress code. In a vain attempt to be exclusive they have banned the wearing of jeans.

So stringent is their policy that they wouldn't allow a famous performer (who had been invited by the club) to enter because of her jeans.

What do people wear instead of jeans? Chinos. The silly policy of no jeans has created a preppy sports casual image rather than a funky night club one.

All intersted parties should write and campaign for a change. Think of a cool night club anywhere in the world with a no jeans policy? Night club dress codes should be "trendy and cool" rather than clothes specific.

A pair of expensive designer jeans versus a QR20 pair of nylon chinos from the souk......which is smarter?
