Is Rent Becoming Unaffordable ??

Seeking expert views ....

After reading and searching although area dependent,it seems to me that rent for a

- 2 bedroom apartments now ranges between QR 7000 to QR 9000
- 3 bedroom apartments now ranges between QR 8000 to QR 12000

I am especially worried since this increases would mean that one may have to start dipping into their base salary to top up to find the right apartment, else you compromise on your level comforts or share an apartment.

1) Is the situation for rents getting out of control ?
2) How hard is it now to go house hunting now just to rent ?

Just to give you my idea of comfort, this is where i currently stay in Singapore ; https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=northoaks+condo&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm...

Comments are most appreciated ....

Great place Singapore but so expensive.

Doha is not a normal market rent follows no logic, just the whims of the qataris and Indian Middle men. Some who would rather leave places empty than lower the rent

You are absolutely correct about Singapore, and ferocious is an understatement. To be fair, we are 6 million people on this teeny weeny island. Enough about Singapore.

So the situation is Doha is ... rents are coming down ? I have been quoted atrocious prices, maybe I expect lower like QR6K for a 2 bedder sounds resonable, but I cant seem to find any.

I dont even want to live in the city, outskirts is fine ... but was told Ezdan Wakra sucks big time.

I do find adverts for it ... but no one seems to reply when you write showing interest.

Is competition stiff to get that rented unit ? Or am i looking at the wrong places ?

Singapore is ferociously expensive and in some cases here the rent is going down. My villa has gone down in price and the apartments my company rent have also gone down.
