Thinking of moving to Doha, but want to visit first...any suggestions?

I am considering taking a job in Doha, but first I would like to visit. Any one have any suggestions on nice not too expensive places/areas to stay, and maybe some things to do or see while visiting?
Also wondering what your experience living there has been like and what you like about the city.
Any response would be appreciated...Thanks

Welcome! I love Doha, but it ain't cheap. Try Tripadvisor.com for a list of 50 hotels with prices. Top sights would be the corniche, the Islamic Museum, the malls, Souk Waqif. It's good to come take a look before signing. Some folks are a little discouraged by the lack of natural scenery and outdoor activities.

You are wel come. It is nice place to live. getting expensive day by day. but still in rang. It depends upon u. where r u migrating. if the currency of that place is bigger then qatari riyal u will find doha is not expensive. it if is smaller u will find it expensive..
