It's very common here in qatar, people share with other families or bachelors. I am sure everyone will have his/her own opinions/experiences on the same.

Of cause we are not living in the house for 24 hours. Maxiumn we stay in the house is 14 hours. So share the house and put more money in your pocket as all of us are leaving from here in one day.

Think more positive and neglet the negative point trying to avoid the problems.

We shared flat with some other family cos we can't afford to pay it by my husband housing allowance, he has 2,500qr only, What you can do with that? But in our case we divided it fairly to each room, so is not hard for us and for them as well.We really get well inside the house.Maybe sometimes there is minor problem only. Its normal to incounter all this in a sharing accomodations. But you need to be patients with others sometimes also.

Sharing is some time better if we have good partners.

If we have thievs as said by Sai, then it is our bad luck.( Sai very sorry to hear your sad moments)

Normally sharing room owners wants to earn money from us and want to live themself in the house as free of charge. our Privacey will be disturbed by the owner of the room allways.

But the rent for individual house is so high here.

so, we are trained to live wd adjustment.

Gets harder as you get older and more settled in your ways/wants. Easier to do when 20-nothing and finding yourself. Can't imagine doing now as a 40-something! One is one's best friend and worst enemy at the same time.

oh, i always share my home, but only with the family members.. either permanent or the temporary ones.. :)

currently we are 5 of us in the apartment: hub, myself, Cookie (a cat) and 2 birds-gays Chilly and Silly.

.. don't like strangers in my kitchen though..

I do agree with you. hahahahah very funny.

.

Yes agree with all that we must prefer separate accomodation but sadly with current RENT scenario many of us have to live in sharing accomodations.

For me, sharing is a good thing when you want to save some money. But, the same time you have to sacrifice lot of things. Like freedom of waching TV channels or time of sleeping etc. And you will not get privacy at all. sometimes you wanted to be alone, but sharing will not allow this. Everybody got their own likes and dislikes, it's up to you to choose which way you want to live.

the only positive side i see is you pay less.. on the other hand, if you are unlucky, you get slob flatmates, sometimes you lose valuable stuffs, if you get really really unlucky, you might have an axe murderer for a housemate.. :P

choosing who do you want to share your apartment with, there would be still problems ... Maybe less trouble, but there would be for sure some.

You would never know that person really until you live with them, if they can pretend to be good outside then they can't do it inside their own home all the time.

Sharing was a temporary solution to solve the high rents disaster, to get some facilities that would be only available in big compounds, to overcome the problem that you are bachelor and being rejected by most of the landlord because it's a crime and for sure you are looking for a house of your own to commit crimes also.

There is nothing like being in your own house, alone doing just your thing ... [Good things indeed, don't get me wrong ... just relaxing, sleeping and watching TV :)]

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. (Gautama Buddha)

You get to see shit marks in toilet bowls in shared toilets. For bed spacers you are forced to smell dirty farts, your room/bed has to be neat and tidy. Sharing apartment means you have to share the kitchen at times and u cant leave dirty plates lying around. I'm happy i live alone :)

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)

I prefer my own company.

I was forced to share many years ago, and that can be a problem when you can't choose who you stay with. The guy was an absolute slob. I vowed never to share again.
