What are your stories with hiring housemaids ?

I know, that we really need domestic help and we do our best to find a housemaid. But beware!! They can turn your life to a nightmare. As I didn’t find any reference on this important issue before, I had to learn by myself. I want every resident in Qatar to hear about my experience and I want to make every member aware of the problems that may arise when you hire a housemaid.
Category 1:
Housemaids who say that they have a sponsor and they say my sponsor have no problem if I work with somebody else.
Cost : 0 QR , then her monthly salary
Please take the time to check the following:
1- Ask for her Qatar Id number,
2- go to http://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/eServices/index.html
3- Go to “Official Documents” section,
4- Enter the number of the Qatar ID,
5- If the residency is valid, you will see the validity dates,
6- If the residency is expired or canceled, it will show in RED. DO NOT deal with this person, she is in conflict with her sponsor and probably escaped from him/her. By giving any assistance to this person you put yourself in big trouble (you will have to pay a fine and your RP will be canceled).
7- If Qatar ID is valid, ask the contact information of the sponsor, talk with him and ask for the following:
a. The original passport and check the Qatar residency permit Visa. The name of the sponsor is written on the Visa. Take the time to check the identity of the sponsor as well.
b. See with your eyes the Qatar ID, and take a copy of it
c. Take a copy of the passport
d. If you find that everything is fine, ask for a NOC from the sponsor, and good luck with you new employee.
