Cmon, life in Doha is not bad at all. I have been living here for 17 years now. Born elsewhere, but brought up in Qatar since I was a kid. I enjoyed my stay here. As long as you can keep the kids at bay from PSP, Ipods, nada nada gadgets and excess of TV, it just works perfect. Go out there, take the kids for a walk. Beaches are not just the places available, there are nice and well maintained parks out there, maintained nice and neat by the government. Take the kids out to the Messaid sand dunes, let them play and jump around on them. The splash and smash of sand will make them forget the heat and the fact that its 45oC outside!

The Katara village should excite them a lot. Take them to the X-treme World in City Center (of course not every day/week). Skating on ice, swimming in the small water park/theme area in the City Center, send them to a club for soccer, swim and basketball? … all these helps a lot! Need more hints or advice…just ask people in QL…they can tell dozens of places/ways to spend life in Qatar, with young kids of course! … oh, I forgot to say, there is a Aqua-park here too in Qatar, weekend is the best time for it.

Money is not an issue. Qatar still has places that are way affordable and fun to fit in with. For summer, you always don't have to choose the costliest summer camps, there are cheeper and longer ones too for summer, Google and Gulf Times, Peninsula etc are the best resources.

Well start living here like me..Within a year your kids will be sick of visiting sea beaches, malls, small parks, sitting in car for long time, eating same cereals, biscuits, chocolates and everythig that u can buy them by money. My kids started their summer holidays on on 16th of June and right now they dont want to go to mall. They finished their drawing dancing and ice skating coachings with two weeks and now they are lost back in their ipods, psp and tv.Life is full of activities too but only u have a fortune to send them to expensive activities. There are so many activities and adventures summer camps but again money matters for that...
