in saudi arabia.. yup, 25000 if you drove over a camel... for the timings, i dont know.. in saudi, the governemnt made flyovers(bridges) for camels to cross on to the other side.. strange..hmmmm. but its true...because i drove once with my friend from jubail to yanbu.. and i saw these camel bridges..

If you hit one on the road, it will always be the best breeder and the most valuable in the herd!

I don't know if it still applies but in the late 80's a law was introduced so that if you hit one between 6am and 6pm it would be YOUR fault. Between 6pm and 6am it would be THE CAMEL'S fault.

EagleMManuel: never heard about the 25k, but eating it IS about natural heritage.

Err.. Question: I was told that if you hit a camel while driving and kill it, you'll be fined QR25,000 as you killed a National Heritage. So, if you kill a camel for food, then what about the National Heritage thingy?

The same way you eat all other meats & chickens. Food is food. And bye the way did you know that camels have a real ugly caracter, are stubborn and have smelly breath.

A gift is a gift. You should not expect anything in return for a gift.

If you want what you want(whatever u mean) then you should exchange the camels not gift them to MD.

Why you need it? I think that camel can go where no vehicle can go inside the desert. Do you want to travel on it?.

It's a shame that Arabs have stopped riding camels and have taken to riding wives and Land cruisers only!

They are drifting from Tradition.

I am surprised, that I see nearly all Qataris walking in the mall with one wife Qatari instead of 3 camels.

The real place for camels is in Shahaniya. I think if you want to learn about camels you should go there, get friendly and pick their brains about prices. Also for eating baby camels are nicest.

Are camels so cheap? Must be due to the recession.

You would need to buy it from the camel market ask about the central market (the fish market and the fruit/vegetable market). It's right after the Sheep/Birds.
