Advice for moving to Dukhan in 2011?!

Hello!

I fully appreciate that this question is most probably already somewhere on this site, but I cannot find any recent posts relating to what I might expect when I move to Dukhan from the UK during the summer this year.

I am moving to work as a teacher, and would really appreciate any advice on:

a) What to expect on arrival
b) What to bring
c) What life is like in general
d) Anywhere it is acceptable to sunbathe! :)

Many thanks!

I assume you'll be working in the Int'l school within the premises of Qatar Petroleum and your accomodation will be there as well.

It's generally a nice place to relax and get rid of all types of stress you've ever been through,,,,,,you cannot expect anymore.

All needs are available but you will need to bring some clothes with you, very light ones but as conservative as you can, as it will be little dificult to make any shopping before owning a car and knowing how to drive to Doha.

I don't know if you'll be entitled to use QP's facilities (club, beach, mess,,,,,etc.). If yes it would be the best choice not to cook at least.

Bring a lot of books as it's the most dificult thing to find here,,,,,,,and definetly, you'll need it.

About sunbathing, I don't think you're acquainted with the heat and humidity here, so take it easy and better to do it in your own backyard if it is unaccessable, otherwise, it's illegal here.
