Be careful. The deadline for changing number plates is 27th November 2012 so please change it before that. Duhail Number Plate section might be cloased during Eid holidays.
if you follow BLUEMOUNTAIN advise, you will pay a penalty of 200 riyals as what my friend did because she waited for 1 month before she follow up. the new number plates is available after 7-10 days except fridays and saturdays. i just got my plates this morning and i renewed my istimara last OCTOBER 10, 2012. when you count that, i waited for 8 days to be exact before it was available. by the way, they are closed during eid. they will open on NOVEMBER 04.

I renewed my car registration on 13 Octber and the police told me to go to Al Duhail workshop after two weeks.
I'll try to go there tomorrow morning and check if it is ready.
