Another one moving to Doha

Sandro
By Sandro

Hi there.
Yes, another one moving to Doha soon (from Italy). At the beginning just four weeks until Christmas, and next year almost permanently. I found very useful this forum to get information, but it is sometimes rather dispersive. Actually I’m looking for news about temporary accommodation for the first time. I am alone and I think a confortable studio or something like this could be adequate for few weeks, then later I’ll find something better.
Could anybody give me a little suggestion about places and other useful news? I looked up in the classifieds in the Gulf Times, but I don’t have the cleverness to pick the right ones.
Thank you.

Hi

Thank you for your response! I will get onto those websites you suggested ASAP! I am comming from South Africa. I would definatly want to meet up with lots of expats once i get there. Im sure I will have a lot more questions soon. How long have you been in Qatar?

A major part of your question I wouldn't be able to answer you might want to put that in the i think that is the expatwoman.com or something of that sort...there is also a MOMs in doha kinda group...and regarding the social group, girl or rather lady we are all here and we meet up sometimes for a cuppa coffee and stuff like that...so yeah come down here and you can catch up...where are you coming from...

And regarding the 4x4 over 5 yrs...they can come to you starting at about QR 1200/- or lets give it QR 1500/- month...for a nice Mistubishi NAtiva or a Pathfinder...

Cheers and ofcourse, the traditional...I almsot forgot lady, Welcome to Qatar and Welcome to QL...I'm sure you would have a nice time...any other questions shoot them...I can return them provided they aren't aimed at Mother-Daughter Care...LOL...so yeah buddy, feel free to ask your questions...cheers...

Hi

I am another one moving to Doha in Feb 2008! i have a 10 year old daughter who will go to school in Doha! but I am finding it hard to find out about aftercare facilities as well as a possible "mothers Helper" for a live out position, i wil be working full time and need assistance with the afternoon with my daughter, does anybody nolw of a good agency? or is there a network of expat mothers that help each other out? Are there social groups to join?

I would also like to know what the average price is for a 4x4 and repayments over 5 years!

I have millions of questions! but thats all for now

Hope to hear from you all!

NP, I'm just wandering about the whole forum gathering information.

I know my questions are quite vague, but with a little effort of patience I'm getting a good deal of news.

I doubt you'll find a place for a few weeks. In the adverts I see, the shortest I've seen is 1-2 months.

butter...ur not helping the guy....lol.

Sandro...if you're looking for just a place to stay maybe it's a good idea to rent a room from another expat, lots of single expats with spare rooms who will probably rent you out a room for less than what a short let flat or hotel would cost you. If you're coming here for work I would've thought ur company would at least put u somewhere for a couple of weeks.
