Can valid Qatar Driving license get converted to UAE license?
Am soon getting transferred to Dubai. I have a Qatar Driving license (valid till 2014) which was renewed in 2009. Can this be converted into a UAE driving license over the counter (as is the case of UAE d/l into Qatar d/l) or do I have to go thru the process of driving school, test, etc.??
No. you cannot change Qatar license to UAE license .But you can apply for few driving coaching classes rather than normal classes
It depends on your nationality. if you are asian and old teh qatari license for more than 7 years, it can be converted or else you will have to take 25 classes followed by road test and exam.
In Dubai the driving schools are a monay making machine.

Yes - you can get the driving licence converted over the counter in Dubai - same like here in Doha - but in Abu Dhabi - NO! - you need to go for road test
I think you will have to give a road test.
