Hey there

I will be moving in by next week to Doha from Sri Lanka. I am planning to bring a statue of Jesus made of ceramic clay to keep at my new home in Doha. Will it be an issue? Knowing Qatar is a Islamic country I am not quite sure whether they would allow me to bring in these stuff. Please guys let me know ur experience on this. Thanks.

leave it at home dont risk it... Art is not appreciated in this country. My friend had all her art confiscated and destroyed. Really sad

Religion is in the heart and not in the statue. that's more important. Travel with faith in your heart.

No prob. to bring it with i believe. however, it should not be placed in a public place or visible.

Even the church here is not allowed to place a cross outside the church. but it's allowed only inside.

you can bring your statue with you.. actually Our Lady of Rosary Church Qatar is selling some of those.. so 100% no problem.. just make sure to keep it in a safe place during your travel.. if you want your statue to arrive in Qatar in one piece..

They are only bothered about alcohol and pork.

I brought the book "The Satanic Verses" by Rushdie in and they didn't say anything.
