I was told that if one is 62 years or older they cannot get a car loan in Qatar. Am not sure if this is through bank or dealer, or both. Can anyone confirm?
Yes Qatar's official retirement age is 60, where as most of the Western countries the retirement age is 65.Now coming back to the question of if your 62 and can you get car loan yes you can as long as you have a valid work permit and residence visa as an expat.
As far as I know, only banks give car loans. I heard it's a Central Bank instruction that people above 60 should not be given car loan. But some lenders do give loan if you have a life insurance policy or willing to take one, ( guarator may also work). Please don't take this as a final word. It's always better to get the info directly from the lenders.

that is because if you are above 60 you will not be given work visa anymore... senior citizens are supposed to retire at that time...
