Coming to Doha

Hello Everyone

I am coming to Doha in couple of days. Visa processing happened rather faster than expected! So I have some question, I hope you guys/girls dont mind answering them.

1. I have about 750 Euros ~ 3000 QR with me. Would this be enough for first month expenses? (Accomodation/travel is provided by my company). So this is basically for food--eating outside + phone+ internet+occassional movie.
2. In worst case is it possible to convert Indian Rupees to QR at a good rate inside Doha?
3. I have a Deutsche Bank debit card--Branch is in Germany--would that be of any help in paying/withdrawing money in Doha?
4. I am thinking of buying a 30 day Health Cover for first month from India. My company doesnt provide medical insurance. Does it make sense to buy 6 month cover in India or in Doha? What is a good coverage Riyals/Euros/Rupees is a good cover for 6 months?

Thanks a lot everyone, and sorry for asking so many questions! As I said, everything happened rather fast and I did not get time to prepare.

I think by this time you are in doha, do you know how it's in here. Anyway I can't figure out why you want to get a Insurance cover from India, since there are many insurance providers in doha. go to Doha Bank Assurance Company. All the best!

It all depends on how you eat and what u plan to do for 1 month...

Avg meal - 20(KFC, McD etc) to 50/60(good restaurants)

Movie..? 35QR

Phone - depends but avg 100QR if u plan to make calls back to your country.

Internet - again depends - 3g from ur fone is 400 for unlimited, if u get a landline then net is 200QR/month

People can live on 1500/month... but it all will depend on how you spend it.

And yes you can convert INR to QAR at most exchanges.

Your debit card can be used if its international - check with ur bank on the charges.

For Food & other expenses, QR 3000 is enough for a month.
