All you need is your license from your country and a copy of your visa and passport. Pay QR150 by credit card (no cash accepted) and you'll get your temporary license immediatelly. Oh, you'll need a picture as well, with colored background (i.e. no white background allowed).
I have been driving here for almost 3 months now, coming from london i used to think londoners were bad drivers hahaaa....i definately take it back....you just need to be really careful mostly on the roundabout...this pple dont have rules on driving at all.

Almost all expat women drive here. It's mainly locals that have drivers. If you can afford one (2000+QR a month) then by all means get one. You can save yourself a lot of frustration, both in driving and trying to find non-existant parking spaces, by having a driver.

it's really advisable to drive on ur own esp during summer season, u can't stand outside the street it's really hot not only burn ur skin but it hurts our eyes as well
