Hi,

I am a 24 year girl from India. I have recently recieved a marriage proposal through one of my great aunts. The guy in question is on a working visa in Qatar.
I have heard stories about life in Qatar and most of them are from people who dont stay in Qatar or have never visited the place!Thats why I wanted clarification on certain matters and hope you will be kind enough to help.

I have heard that any man on a work permit has to be earning some minimum salary to get his wife to Qatar...is that true?
If so, what is the minimum wage that he must be earning?
Secondly, can I work in Qatar on a dependant visa?

Sorry to bother you, but the answers to these questions(besides many others) will help me make a decision when the time comes.

It would be great if someone who is in the same boat or has knowledge in this matter would come forward and help me.

Thank you.

it will be easire if u tell us what job is he doing and whats his salary- without that we cant make any asessment . and also cost of living depends upen how u live or rather how far you can go to save some money.

Without getting into specifics,If you can find out what his basic is..or advise if he is a professional or what?? so that we can advise you if he can sponsor you or not.

Working for a woman is easier in Qatar since most companies who wish to recruit ladies for a certain position, prefer women on husband/father's sponsorship.

Thanks for the reply!

I had no clue abt the rent being unaffordable.

Can you pls let me know earning how much would be considered a decent salary in Qatar, if the company is not sponsoring accomodation?

yes your husband should be able to sponsor you, only then can you come here . so that means he must have a decent slary as the rents here are just too much for normal people to handle. yes you can work here while you live as your husabnds depends - thats not a problem. what u have 2 see is - does he have a job with free acoomdation ? if not is his salary enough for you both to live together.
