Hi, i am just wondering if I could acquire a bicycle to go around in doha. How safe is it? are ther dedicated lanes for bicycles? which place in doha can i buy one.

It's safe to ride around but of course not on the main road.
Ride it on the sidewalk as most people do.

then you will know for yourself DO NOT ATTEMPT DOHA ROADS ON A BICYCLE unless you have a death wish. Yes, some people do travel on bicycles, but notice they are usually low income people who cannot afford any other transportion.
you will never ever make a mistake of buying a 2wheel thing :?

With people like Darude driving around town like crazy I would say ur safer off in a Tank :)
Suggestion: You can Ride your bicyle wearing:
a) Helmet
b) Safety Jacket
c) Bullet Proof Jacket
d) Safety Shoes
e) Safety Goggels
f) Handproof Gloves
If you ready to wear all tat and get barbqued in this heat. Then i would suggest you tat its safe to ride the bicycle.....!!

It is very unsafe so do not even think of it.
lol @ vegas , me on the other hand cant ride anything with 2 wheels due to some balancing issues.......lmfao

We usually find a seperate lane for the bicycles and pedestrians. But usually you find Crusiers, cruising around in these lanes.
So better go for Cruiser instead of Bicycle....
there are no separate lanes but people do go around in bicycles and its quite safe...The only thing is the hot weather now ,if you can bear it.
Don't even think of buying one.
in end you will end up cursing all the honking and fast drivers that will scare the sh*t out of you
