Inexpensive Place to Eat Near Ramada?
By aprilfamily •
My husband just arrived in Doha last night and is being put in at the Ramada by his company. He's been given an allowance of 120 QR/day for food. This morning he went downstairs to get some breakfast and found that it cost 90 QR!! Can anyone recommend someplace he can get an inexpensive meal within walking distance of the hotel? I'll pass the info along to him.
Thanks!
Wah sibei cun eh......why u give mura mura place mah? Thai Massage some mor.....aiyoo...kantoi mah...
There's a local 'kfc' take-aways and dining along the Al-Nasr section. Walk along Al-Nasr pavement and turn left, all the way in..you'll lots of restaurants.
There's even a Thai Massage Centre.
Happy adventuring.
hallo
just pass the signal and u will find alot of cafes for brakfast i suggest Le france cafe.
for lunch and dinner Ask about El Nasr street it is just beside MCdonalds and u will save from 120 QR lol
I agree to LamborJ, As you go out the Hotel, walk to your right and aaaago straight till you reach The Centre, there is Kentucky, The Great Wll of China, The Filipino Rest. just below the Great Wall (ground floor) Very cheap
theres a chinese restaurant, buffet QR 40/person.
Eli Franc Cafe, have western B'fast and the coffee is soooooooooo Good. just walk distance from Ramada. Just before Jarir Bookstore.
or go to Mint.Creapaway they hv B'fast, Lunch and Dinner in very affordable price and the food is very good.
Everybody is right and Everybody is wrong, its depend where you stand
if you walk from Ramada on Salwa road toward Industrial area for about 10 minutes (or drive for about 1 minute), on your right hand side, just before the flyover, you will find NANDO's, nice place with good food.
And also you can find a lot of inexpensive places on Al Nasr Street. Shwarma as cheap as QR 5 for the sandwich.

Londonalgiers recommended the best street for finding good eatries. It's almost 1 km from the place he is staying, so a newcomer may find difficulties. Otherwise, it's the best place. I am a regular one with Turkish Central Restaurant, which is the most delicious and cheapest food serving place in Qatar.
Tons of places within walking distance. You can easily get a great meal for way under 40 QAR. Easiest thing for him to do is just go for a walk or ask anyone at the hotel for directions.
Also, out the front of the hotel across the street to the right and down Al Mirqab Al Jadeed street (behind the Hardees on ring C) there is place called Thia Snack (no more than 20 QAR for a meal) and a number of other popular relatively inexpensive resturants. Try the Hammour. It will take longer to cross the street than to walk to the place.
thank you all for the information. I'll forward it to him so when he gets back from work, he can find something reasonable for dinner. I appreciate the help!
Looking forward to being in Doha myself!
yeah Raph and Angelo are right! but you can for less and better than KFC or Pizza Hut, just tell your husband to find Nasser street and walk around there..excellent eatery I recommend a few.
if he can walk for 5 minutes, there is KFC, MC Donalds behind Ramada Hotel 500 meters). on the opposite side of Ramada there is a chain of restaurants named Sterling Group which includes pizza, all types of food (Caravan Restaurant) where buffet is also served. Iam sure it is cheaper than what he is paying in ramada for food...
Breakfast as above mentioned, for lunch and dinner, he could try the sterling group which is opposite the Ramada hotel. You have Pizza Hut, Caravan, Pondorosa, Arbys, coffee shop, a chicken joint etc.
Have a great day.
He can find a lot of inexpensive to moderate eatries in and around Ramada signal, which is just a stone's throw from Ramada hotel. There are Pizza hut, Caravan, KFC, McDOnald's, Chili's, Subway etc. etc. Ask him to just go around and explore. No need for any expert advise as he is staying in the heart of the city.
Good morning! If your husband likes Thai food, there's a nice Thai Kitchen called (Amjad Snack) it is on Nasser street (everyone knows the street) for 90 reals you can invite 3 friends and have each a starter and a main course. otherwise there are plenty of nice eateries on the same street, Turkish, Asian, Lebanese etc. all fairly priced....food in hotels is always more expensive. bon appetit
