What you are asking for is not only unethical but illegal as well. You are stealing someone else's bandwidth without his/her knowledge.

As mentioned earlier this can be done by decrypting and stuff...but think over it why go through all this trouble, where as you can get a legal and better connection by paying a minimum amount of Qrs 200/month.

Trespassing unsecured networks is not only an offense but it also makes your computer vulenarable to viruses and spyware programs including the trojan dialer (!) which can rack up charges on your telephone bill. Additionally, if you are using your credit card to buy merchandise online or access your online bank account, can lead to identity theft.

The proper way to handle this issue is to take a gift to the neighbour, introduce yourself, and ask if you can pay for 1/2 his Internet costs in an effort to reduce costs for both of you (provided that neither of you are downloading torrents of videos all day long).

But yes, if you were my neighbour and I saw my bandwidth being eaten up by a lecherous thief, I'd lock it down too.

You realize that someone can track you through your email address and report you to locacl authorities for theft.

Anybody interested, send him an email track his IP address when he opens his email, and forward IP, and time to Qtel.

In United States it is a federal crime to use someones wireless connection without their permission. Here in Qatar, I dont know. And perhaps it is a law they have not addressed. It seems like anything goes in this country. A free for all every man for himself. lol

But to answer your question, yes it is possible to crack if they are using WEP to encrypt the signal. But you gotta be computer geeky ;-)

There are a few Linux tools that will crack a WEP key after capturing a fair amount of packets such as Aircrack and Kismet.

Interesting tutorial

You are stealing his service that he paid for. He obviously applied the password to keep people like you out.

I suggest you spring for your own internet connection.
