Nair: They way you are looking at saving money, you will not be able to either eat or even drink water properly. How much cost can you save by bringing utensils from your home here? I don't think anybody does. This is because if you just multiply the cost of one single meal here with the exchange rate of your country's currency, you will realize that in that same amount of money you could be enjoying three meals in your hometown. When you in earn in Riyals, you must think in Riyals, and you spend in Riyals. Yes, you stated right -- the ideas is weird no doubt.

Though it seems ridiculous, but yes you can bring utensils to Qatar. Make sure to put them(also sharp objects like knife) in your checked-in luggage.

Nair: Why would you like to bring such things to Qatar when they are already easily available here in the markets and they are of very good quality? Is there something holy about them such as them having been washed with water from the Ganga river which of course is not available here? You may bring a flask full of Ganga water and "purify" the the basic utensils you buy here with that water if that is the case.
