medical exam- Hepa B concern
Hi am in a state of shock & at loss right now & need advice & honest feedbacks please. My husband is currently working in Qatar right now and he's currently working out may resident visa to finally be with him. As a preparation i decided to have an executive check-up to know any diseases so that i can be able to have a treatment already. Unfortunately, i was diagnosed to have a Chronic Hepatitis B Inactive or the doctor called me a healthy carrier. I was really shocked since i underwent the same tests before for Hepatitis and was negative until this time.My husband was negative to it when he underwent medical exams before that's why he was able to work in Qatar & i believe i did not transmit the disease to him. My concerns would be, will i be able to acquire a resident visa & land a job too in Qatar? I'm really in despair right now and need all the help & information that i could get. Thanks.

ive read your post, kindly elaborate further on the last paragraph,is there a possibility that i can stay in qatar

ID name sucks
It does not matter what your clinic/physician or local blood test results are. You WILL be retested in Qatar. Only results of tests performed in Qatar, and read by Qatari doctors, are acceptable to the Qatari officials. Do not waste your money getting a second opinion, or repeating tests. Don't bother to bring your X-ray films with you. Just because you go to an 'accredited' clinic, does NOT mean it is accredited/accepted here.
That being said, the country of Qatar is fairly understanding when it comes to pre-existing problems. No country will knowingly accept you if you have a communicable (infectious)disease. Qatar's first responsibility is to protect ITS population as much as possible. However, if you come to Qatar for employment, it is more likely that the employment company will be the one to reject/deport you, not Qatar. Since your visa is in question, if the employment company sends you home, you will have no choice. I personally know of several recent cases, where Qatar was willing to accept the person for employment, while receiving treatment, but the employment company stepped in, and had the individual sent home. One of the reasons they do this is to protect their business reputation as a provider of acceptable employees.
The same is true about conditions that are NOT communicable (infectious)such a fibrosis, having had coronary bypass surgery etc.. Anything that can result in your becoming a burden to the Qatari medical system, may keep you from getting to live here, if you are working, or not.
can i also get a fit to travel status even if the accredited clinic who examined me says unfit to work because because of fibrosis in lungs.I have already a residence visit visa status under the sponsorship of my husband. pls have your advice
i got a medical clearance from GAMCA accredited clinic and they only gave me Fit to travel status not fit to work. Although, my husband told me not to worry too much since i'm a dependent. I do not lose hope on finding a job in doha since i've read several blogs that they are only strict when it comes to jobs in the medical & food industries like groceries & restaurants.. I'm still optimistic on landing a job. I'm waiting for the release of my passport with my stamped visa soon ^_^
hello, it depends what kind of position you are applying here in Doha.
hi twilight, If you are coming here in doha for family visit do not go to the accredited laboratories in manila, ma fu frustrate ka lang. Of course they will say some discouragement words. The Medical Commission is only strict on those jobs classified as food handlers, medical staff, salon staff. Others only HIV test. don't worry everything will be okay.
Can you please enlighten me. Im a hep b carrier but my doctor advise me in the Philippines that im a healthy carrier. i just want to ask if this will be a possible hindrance since i was selected for a job in Qatar. Appreciate your answer

thanks much for the info, i had my medical required by GAMCA back here in the phl., unfortunately they took another vial of my blood since i was diagnosed to be HBSAG reactive, i told the attending nurse that i already had various tests taken & told them that i'm a chronic hbv inactive carrier.. i still don't know what will happen, they want me back by monday for the result. Hopefully they would find same result as my attending physician did.
hi twilight08,my husband is also working here in Qatar and im staying here also with my kids for about 3 months now and had our RP,during the medical at the ministry of health, they took blood sample and a british friend told me that its for HIV test,1 vial only.Im also a Chronic Hepatitis B Inactive and as said by the doctor in the phils im a healthy carrier. They also said that as long as your not going to work in medical field,or food handler,or as primary school teacher..you can get a work. Those were the work that needs 2 vial of blood for testing, and it includes hepa test a,b and c.
i already had second opinion.. i also talked to my parents & they confirmed about it although i was infected not through birth but through our helper when i was a kid and they forgot to tell me about it since our family doctor informed them it was HBV Inactive and nothing should be worried about. But still it worries me now since i'm applying for Qatar Visa & planning to look for a job as accountant or any office job related. Nevertheless, i really appreciate your comment. thanks a lot. :)
PM Me. I can't write whole thing here.
I would advice to make second opinion make another examination in other medical expert. don't loss hope.
