Hi Qlers,

I've a approx US$3000 to spend on moving my stuffs and I wonder if someone can help me on the most efficient way to use them to move some of my household stuffs (books, computers, clothes, etc.) to Qatar. I'm moving from the US.

Thanks Qlers ...

Comingtoqatar,

My advice: bring as little as possible.

It’s an expensive nightmare to handle moving/cargo companies here in Qatar and in case you wanna leave fast, it will be easier!

You may not see the reason for my advice but you'll understand it once you get here.

You can buy everything here for the fraction of the cost of shipping!

Hello,

I moved from TX to Doha in 2009, I used Allied International. Their representative will come to your home and evaluate the cargo and give you estimate, they will come with truck and few guys to inventory and move the stuff to their local facility. Once they finalized the cargo they will give you final cost. It will take around one month to get the stuff over here in Doha, Allied International has some local shipping company who work on to get your shipment cleared from custom, I had to pay only QR100 ($28).

Stuffs? Are you sure you are from the USA?

Why not just talk to some movers over there?
