Please help, car accident question!

Hello everybody,

Have a couple of questions because Im a bot worried about a car accident I had today.

Im renting a car. Was stopped in front of a roundabout with a red light on. A guy was speeding behind me and hit another guy on the right side and there after my car.

Police was called, cars not moved. After 30 mins police arrived, took our driving licences and we explained the situation which was quite clear as they guy that hit us admitted his fault and the cars were the evidence.

They told us to move the cars to a clear area.

They took plate number and some other details. Then they gave me a sticker which I thought was like a coupon for the police report or something. I ask: What is this sticker? And they told me: Traffic violation because you didnt move the cars from the accident spot, 1000QR!! I couldnt beleive what I was hearing...I asked them about the police report and he said...go to Khalifa Police Station, the car that hit you has insurance and thats it, he told me to go...Very rude manners at all times and not helpful at all...

What Im a bit worried about is the fact he didnt give me like any paper or nothing about the accident, just a f**** traffic violation.

Is this the normal procedure? Any help or advise will be of great help.

Thanks and take care

Mr Basher, In most of the accidents, the given judgements

are not accurate based on the actuals ( the real cause )

so moving the cars or leaving there doesnt make any sence.

Its their spot judgement, differs person to person.

The rule here, for the last couple of years, is to move the car to the side of the road in an accident, if it can be moved, this is to prevent traffic jams. and if not moved, the fine is Qr. 1,000.00

Their rude behavior is normal, you guys disturbed him, by his coming to you or his siesta.

When, the traffic police is called, they usually ask if anyone is hurt, is the ambulance required, if no injuries and the cars can be driven, to bring the cars to Traffic department in Airport area and there they check and tell you to come next day and collect the papers after paying Qr.100/- by credit card
