Rental agreement
I am leaving Qatar for good further to cancellation of my contract with my employer.
I have a housing contract valid till 31st January 2009 (I have completed only 6 months in the contract). I wish to know whether I am liable for the balance 6 months' rent. What will happen to the post dated cheques, in this case 6 + 1 (caution deposit) cheque with my house owner.
Can anyone give me a clear answer and if possible a copy of Buidling and Places Rent Law of 1975 - Qatar with its revisions.
Try to find someone who is willing to take over the lease advertise for the flat here on the QL websiteL
The Contracts become void and null and you have to pay only the notice period what ever that may be..

HE WHO DARES WINS
It will depend on the agreement you had with your landlord.
As far as I have been led to believe:
If you were staying in Doha, you would be liable to pay out the entire value of the rental agreement.
But since you are leaving, you will be charged once month's notice, you will lose any security bond if there is damage to your property, but you won't be charged for future month's rent.
In any case, if you have paid by post-dated cheques, just cancel your bank account before you leave and then there is nothing the land lord can do about it.
