WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?

My hubby is working there in Qatar as a Civil Engineer...I am too is a Civil Engineer with 12 years of experience and am wondering what are the chances of finding a job related to my field should I go there in Qatar thru Wife Visa. (My husband's company does not employ married couple in one company).

How about the salary package? Will it be the same as locally hired?

I have two kids, was wondering how is the system of education there in public school/ private school ? Is the standard good compared to your country? How about the environment, will it be safe for my daughter and my son - ages 5 and 2 to stay there?

Your comment will be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Unless you have your own company its still male dominated here. As a female chef Ive been here for over a year and cant get work and was basically told its because I'm female and as the kitchens are made up of mainly asian men that they would not respect my authority.

Thanks for the prompt reply....

Should I go there, I wont be applying for a site engineer position...probably office engineer, soil and materials engineer or the like....

very best regards!

Qatar needs lots of civil engineers at the moment as construction is the only thing thats going on day and night in Qatar But being a woman I doubt that the local companies would hire you. The civil engineer has to deal with labourers at some point and the workers in Qatar might give a woman civil engineer a tough time.

Anyways Good Luck in you job search
