Don't bother shipping your car from the US - the specs on vehicles in the Gulf are completely different. The minivan will be a toaster oven in the summer, and the pathetic little radiators they put in in the States would probably melt the first truly hot day here. Plus, it is virtually unsellable as a used vehicle in Doha. Credit is easy (and cheap), and it is muuuuuch easier to just rent a vehicle for a couple months here while you get your bearings, then decide what type of car will work best for your needs here. Almost nobody drives minivans here in Qatar - you'll find that you will want something with a bit more ground clearance...
