Muslim Expatriate Association - Welcome!
Assalamualaikum everyone!
Please accept my apologies for not posting anything earlier onto this group. I want to assure you that we're still working on wanting to host another MEA event in the near future. In the meantime, any and all suggestions and ideas are encouraged and welcomed.
The spirit and intent of the Muslim Expat Association is to promote social, educational, and intellectual events and activities, all within the context of our wonderful deen. This is not meant to be a forum of fiqhi debate, nor is it meant to promote any one specific Islamic ideology.
The idea is to unite and build bridges amongst each other rather than divide an already broken up ummah.
By the way, I also want to let you know that we've started up a group in Facebook for the MEA. For those who hesitate to register with Facebook due to concerns regarding privacy (I too had my reservations about Facebook by the way, but not after I found out about the following), you can control exactly what others see about you, so you need not worry about anyone finding out anything unnecessary about you. Please join the group on Facebook too. We'll use both this group list and Facebook to continue discussions on the MEA.
Anyway, enough of the talk. Here's the first post. And I hope to see many more in the future inshaAllah!
