I am aware that this topic has been discussed several times in QL but still I haven’t seen a clear explanation. At the moment I am in Bahrain and work for a rogue employer that treats employees like garbage. My passport along with my education certificates are with the employer. I am in the middle management cadre and top to bottom every employee is treated in the same way. I have now been able to secure a good job with lucrative pay in Qatar and I would like to take this opportunity. While speaking to the employer I have been told that my visa is valid for another 11 months and to release I will have to pay the sum amount not less than 10 months’ salary which is approximately 100000 QRS. I certainly do not want to pay the money, hence I think of leaving Bahrain. I would get the passport by some means and get out of Bahrain. My question is would I have issues while stamping Residence Permit or is there any way I could sort this out? Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

@roy ka, many thanks for the response and its indeed very heart welcoming. I hope i can now start preparing to come to Qatar and have a pecaeful life. Do the employers in Doha keep the passport and the original certificates?
No worries if your visa was not cancelled in Bahrain. You can have your Qatar working visa here in Qatar. last year I was on a working visa from Abu Dhabi and it was not cancelled, I came here in Qatar as visit visa, Im worrying when I was applying but they told me there was no problem. After 4 days the PRO said my visa is successfully transferred to a working visa.
Thank you archfddavid for the response. However please note if i ask the company to cancel the RP then i would have to pay the money that they ask. Is there a way out to cancel the RP?
Be sure that your visa in Bahrain is cancelled before going to Qatar so that you will be given a resident permit. That is my experience 2years ago I left Bahrain and went to Qatar with valid resident permit, I was not issued a resident permit in Qatar my company sent me back to Bahrain to have my residency to be cancelled.
