Dear All,

I had an offer from a sub-contractor (outsource company) to work for Ashghal at the IT department, the salary is 18k/month with no other allowances. I have a wife and two kids in schools, I don’t know is this a decent offer or not I want to move to Qatar but I’m looking for a decent safe life for me and my family.
Please advise.

Dear All,

Thanks for your reply I have 12 years’ experience in IT Systems Administration and about 6 certificates in my field, I just want to know how much should I ask for?

the contract is for two years and extendible, there is no raise till the end of the contract. As I mentioned it is 18K/month all in all.

I'll try to negotiate and ask for 22K is this is enough for me and the two kids and wife. as there is no housing or schooling.

Regards,

Ahmed Salah

Offer is good but you have to ask for an offer letter indicating all your benefits.

first of all congratulation for your offer

, this salary not bad but also not very good

you need 5000 for rent

(for medium level of accommodation)

averge school fees is about 30,000 ryal for one kids (you can go for cheaper and also you can go for more expensive )

2000 ryal per month for car

for food it is not expensive

If you dont have better offer go ahead Inshallh you and your family will be happy here

Not knowing your academics, experience & position recruited for, i can only say 18k is a decent salary to live in Qatar. however, you will have to keep an eye on your expenses as it not a lavish living with two kids specially if they are schooling.

all the best!
