Marry Me!!!

Marry Me!!!

What do you think about marriage proposal? Were you proposed by your other half? How did it feel like to be proposed? How do you think a proposal should be like? Is it illegal to propose a girl for marriage in Qatar?

So many questions, but i believe you married couples out there have the answers to my question.

What does it mean to get married, and what does it take to sacrifice your life for some one for the rest of the moments of life?

Arranged or Love?

I know i have a lot of questions but again i remembered one post about a Qatari Girl Looking for a Mr. Qatari Right, do you think you can give up everything for the one you love; your family, your country, your dreams, i mean everything?

Hope you guys answer some of my queries. Have a wonderful day QLERS. :)

One of the foremost lessons I have learned of marriage in general is that marriages are as multifarious and diverse as people are. One simply cannot and should not compare...Sure there will be some similarities, but as a whole every marriage, and the circumstances surrounding them, will be different from one another.

However For most marriages to succeed there are some key elements (although some marriages survive even without them!) like love, courtesy, trust, loyalty, patience, honesty etc.

Love or arranged? Again depends on the individual, their faith, beliefs, family background, cultures, etc. In my family arranged marriages are considered prehistoric and a strict no no. Hence when I became a practicing Muslimah, I had to depend on friends and acquaintances to play matchmakers and thankfully they did a good enough job, may God bless em!

Personally getting married to my husband is one of the best things I ever did, and I have no regrets. Sure I had to make sacrifices, I mean who dosent? But considering the amount of alterations and renouncement I made when I started practicing Islam, marriage was in comparison a pleasure and piece of cake, and truly made my life much happier and fulfilling than single-hood did,AlHamdulilah!

As long as you are married to the right person(right for you ie) then marriage will surely bring you more joy, though of course no marriage, just like life itself, is ever bereft of both ups and downs!

Here are a few thoughts:

1. Marriage is complicated.... sometime it is paradise... sometime it is hell... but most of time it is both :-). The important part is to make the right choice and to use the right tools to deal with the emerging situations.

2. If you are marrying it is better to be a love marriage... you are the one who will be living with the person so this is your choice not your parents... however one should take parents advice too... it all depends on circumstances...

3. YOu don't have to give up everything.. with time ... even if people were against your marriage... they come around... and their anger dies off... so if you do love someone.. and you are confident about the trustworthiness and quality of a person - go for it... but don't forget that love marriage is even more work than arranged... yet it can be more rewarding.. basically the stakes are high but it is worth it. I would not do it any other way.
