Moving from Bahrain to Qatar

Hello,

Was wandering if anyone has had the experience of moving from Bahrain to Qatar? Looking to ship our belongings directly from Bahrain to Qatar rather than back to the UK this summer and then to Qatar again. Could anyone that's done this recommend a good moving company? Also, is it true you cannot ship anything there until you have your residence permit?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

This is more of a warning than a question. I would advise NOBODY to use Relogulf if they are thinking of relocating from Qatar or Dubai. They take your money and your goods are just held by them as they dont pay the shippers. We are currently in a battle with them along with hundreds more trying to get our stuff back. THey have our whole life in a container and think it clever to avoid our calls as we are out of the country. We left the begining of April and as yet our goods are not even outside of the ME.

hi..you can try GAC in Bahrain..my parents used them when they moved from bahrain and did a top job with everything..they handle everything from packing in bahrain to unpacking in qatar..we have used them twice; once from Bahrain and then Kuwait. Best of luck.

It is best to look for one of the local companies in Bahrain. They will pack and load on truck for delivery. Not too stressful.

Good luck!

yes, without residence permit nothing happens. Are you aware that you (and your family) need an exit permit from your employer every time you leave the country ?
