Me and my wife we're planning to transfer to a villa as family is getting big, But most of the advert i saw, they we're asking for 15 Days commission.. Half of the Rent are they serious?,.. that's to much!!!
I hate those people who ask for commission, they taking advantage, and to greedy!,..

If you are leaving your currant Flat put in Qatarliving so any comes to you and you directly introduce him to your owner so he or her no need to pay commission.

commission is a business expense and it is rightfully charge to person doing the business or getting the income out of the business.. but here I see totally awkward thing.. the prospect tenant/customer paying the rent and at the same time paying the commission.. for malbariis doing this is like shooting 2 birds in 1 stone..

Real estate agents with a proper set up requesting commission is one thing but the other fly by night operators with a mobile phone and always giving missed calls and without a proper clue about what they are talking about is something else

the reason they ask commission is that you dont have to make your lazy ass work and find properties street by street knock every door or call owners number.

if you dont wanna pay commission simple do what western ppl do sit in your car and drive through the qatar.

and by the way qatar is not the only place where there are real estate agents asking for commission.may be you came from a jungle or a zoo where accommodation is easy to get.

Yeah the mallus seem to have made a business of this commission business and the way they sweet talk and keep on saying my dear, my dear in their broken and twisted english gives you the impression that they are somehow related to you

I am gree with you...if they are doing a real time marketing. we call them and wait for them to come and show the dirty shit...do you expect us to pay for that.

recently i was looking for an apartment in Doha. I met 8 malbaries and they were just begging for the commission. Otherside, they were showing a part of villa partioned with gypsum. My god....can't believe..

One of the malabari made a 2 bed room on the roof with wood. When asked, how can we stay during summer that too in hot with a baby....funny answer is, it is good for health...

Are they doing any marketing? No

We call them and wait for them till they come and show the apartment or villa ..that too with all partioned ....

There were no proper exhuast fans or ventilations in the villa.

This commision seekers are a disgrace to all the others in the community that they come from. They get their stupid, greedy and cheating policies out here and even to their work places where nothing moves or gets done unless something is given to them or some favours are done to them

Ok agreed theycommission is for their service but not so much 15days is very high commission for anybody they should be an amount fixed as commission which should helpful for both the parties

Take it or leave it. That's their vocation. If you will look for a job-i don't have the right to tell you that you are greedy once you ask for a high salary because i know that you believe that you deserve that pay base on your service.;, if you want to sell something or anything you'll do with regards to money matter-do what you want....name your price...

and unfortunately, the beast is the unregulated market in Qatar. There are now MANY landlords who are refusing to pay any commission to agents, and this has therefore led almost EVERY main agency in Qatar to start charging tenants. In THEORY, they should provide you with a great, professional service, though admittedly this is not always the case.

The UAE has a regulatory body in place....but tenants pay 5% there in fees for EVERY deal! Often the service is terrible there, even with the laws in place.

As has been said, it's a one off payment.

Unless you have the time to trek around Doha looking for a commission free home, stick to the main agents(NOT THE INDIVIDUAL ONES!)and make them work!

If you need any help i am here to assist you as i am looking for an accommodation as well near Mura/ Ain khalid/ Abu hamour as close to industrial area
